Rock of Cashel,
Rock of Cashel
the seat of Kings and mediaeval bishops for 900 years until the early 17th century. A spectacular group of Mediaeval buildings set on an outcrop of a limestone in the Golden Vale including a round tower, Romanesque Chapel, cathedral and restored hall of the Vicar's Choral. Open all year.

Bru Boru Heritage CentreBru Boru Heritage Centre,
The palace of Boru (Brian Boru was king of all Ireland in 11th century) is now a national heritage centre at the foot of the Rock of Cashel. It has a well-equipped theatre with frequent performances of the very best of Irish music, song and dance. The centre also houses a fully computerised genealogical service.

Cashel Folk Village
Opened in 1984 it contains many interesting informal reconstructions; The Widow Breen’s Kitchen; The Wild Rover Pub; Joe Noonan’s Butcher Stall and Delaney’s Forge.

Bolton Library
Contains a unique collection of antiquarian books and is the finest collection outside of Dublin

Heritage Centre Tourist Office
and award winning heritage centre featuring a large-scale model of Cashel town in the 1640’s. The Heritage Centre invites you to turn the key to the rich heritage of Cashel, one of Ireland's most significant Ecclesiastical Centres dating to before Saint Patrick. It provides the visitor with a series of changing exhibitions, a large scale model of Cashel in the 1640's, highlighting the lesser known treasures of the town.

ACTIVITIES


Golf, Fishing and Riding can all be arranged locally.

The Tipperary Heritage Walk from Cashel to Vee in county Waterford is a signposted walk 55k in total. It’s a wonderful walk taking you through forest tracks and historic sites along the river Suir

Cashel Golden walk for the less energetic is a lovely 11k walk along the banks of the river Suir.

Marl Bog on the Tipperary road has extensive forest walks and a lake.
